Lola institute Ltd is a research and development institute 100% owned by the Republic of Serbia accredited by Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development.
Institute was founded in 1985, by integration of Insitute for machine tools and tools (IAMA) and Institute for new technologies Ivo Lola Ribar (ILR) which produced machine tools, robots, process, metallurgy other equipment.
Today Lola institute is an independent research and development institute and its main activities are machine tools, robotics, control systems, equipment for training of pilots and flight simulation, equipment for processing of community waste and small hydroelectric power plants.
The expert jury of the Belgrade Fair awarded the Grand Prize "Step into the Future" to the LOLA INSTITUTE at the 66th International Fair of Technology and Technical Achievements under the slogan "Inspiring Development," held from May 21-24 in Belgrade, for the exhibit Vertical Machining Center LOLA VMC4 (https://sajamtehnike.rs/dodeljene-nagrade-sajma-tehnike-2024/).
LOLA VMC4 was presented as part of the exhibit of scientific research organizations at the Government of the Republic of Serbia's booth under the title "Play for Humanity! Science for Everyone" and under the slogan "Step into a Sustainable Future" (https://nitra.gov.rs/cir/ministarstvo/vesti/66-medunarodni-sajam-tehnike-i-tehnickih-dostignuca-je-zavrsen-dr-begovic-nadam-se-da-ce-od-ovih-ideja-nastati-nove-startap-kompanije).
LOLA VMC4 is the result of the work of researchers from LOLA INSTITUTE and the Department of Manufacturing Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade, within the Technology Transfer call (Fund for Innovation Activity of the Republic of Serbia), with the remaining funding provided by LOLA INSTITUTE. During the fair, the LOLA INSTITUTE's booth had a large number of visitors, and many expressed interest in the LOLA VMC4 exhibit, which is at a commercial level.
